Cybersecurity Days begin on Oct. 1

This year Ohio State is collaborating with BTAA to celebrate October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. BTAA has scheduled four engaging and educational events to help you develop awareness and guide you to take action against cybersecurity threats.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyber pro or just interested in cybersecurity as a user, this series offers something for everyone—from gamified learning and expert insights to real-world cautionary tales and live hacking demos. Let’s build a culture of awareness and resilience that supports our shared mission of teaching, learning, and research. Some events are geared toward all users while some are more technical for IT professionals.
Here’s what’s coming up for everyone:

  • Cybersecurity Gameshow: Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1:30 -2:30 p.m. - All users cam benefit from good cyber skills and we’re here to put your mind through the motions! Join us for a turbocharged game show in a friendly competition with other Big Ten colleges. Power up with essential info and practical techniques to safeguard your digital life. Register now!
  • Scary Cyber Tales: Don’t Let Your Data Go Bump in the Night: Wednesday, Oct. 22,  2:00 p.m. Real stories. Real threats. Real lessons. Learn how to protect yourself from phishing, ransomware, and more in this chilling session. All users can benefit from this event, which is a spine-chilling journey into the real-life dangers of the digital world.  Register now!

  • BTAA CISO Panel: Securing the Mission: Thursday, Oct. 9, 2-3 p.m. -Join CISOs from Rutgers, Oregon, Michigan, and Michigan State as they unpack the challenges and opportunities in building a resilient security culture across higher ed. Register now!
